Ingredients:

For the Dough:

  • 500g (4 cups) all-purpose flour
  • 325ml (1 1/3 cups) warm water
  • 10g (2 tsp) salt
  • 5g (1 tsp) sugar
  • 7g (2 1/4 tsp) dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 100g (3.5 oz) artichoke hearts, quartered
  • 50g (1.7 oz) black or green olives, pitted
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional)

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for about 5–10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
  3. Gradually add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise for about 1–2 hours or until doubled in size.

Step 2: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 220°C (430°F). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating.

Step 3: Shape and Assemble the Pizza

  1. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a thin, round shape.
  2. Transfer the dough to a pizza peel or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
